Watching for the lover in the dark

Watching for the lover in the dark

She is the light in my sins
The darkness in my three miracles,
I am the saint in her prostitution,
And the killer to her little girl innocence
And the way she watches me in the bedroom
Calls out to me to be a sinner
And the way she kisses me in the car calls out to me
to be her saint
So I call out her name in the dark after she has died
And reach out for her in the sunlight after she has
ran away
And call out to her ghost But her scent lingers
On my finger tips
And her light shines in my eyes
But she is nothing anymore
Except a memory and a telephone call in the night

I will start this new blog with an old poem

I am starting this new blog really from doing to many others in to many places, so I am hoping to consolidate my readers here and on myspace. Have fun and please comment if you feel the need.

Live well,
Rik

The whore and the hero who wasn't

i was a half priced romeo
looking for a dime store hooker
she had her body lathered up with cheap lotion
and her toenails painted blood red
over chipped and scraped old polish
she slid into her thrift store dress
thinking she looked so finebut really she looked like hell
but that is what made her beauty shine through
and all the makeup on her face
couldn't hide that wonderful smile
that never came through
except when she looked at that johnny depp poster
hanging in the hall
next to the phone
where she would lay in the dark
and talk to me until the light of dawn came through the windows
over the mountains
but now it all falls through the cracks
as she goes back home in just a few hours
and has to find the track her life is riding on
